In 1981, Mr. Ricardo Rodríguez bought a used Jet Ski model 1979. Ricardo noted that lots of people were interested in his Jet Ski and asked where he bought it and how could they do the same. Ricardo had only one problem and it was that there were no Kawasaki representatives in Puerto Rico were he could buy spare parts for his Jet Ski. Therefore, every time the Jet Ski failed to work, he had to wait for weeks not beeing able to use it while ordering and receiving the new parts from a dealer in the United States. This situation prompted Ricardo in acquiring the representation of the line and after some years of negotiations with Kawasaki Motors Corp. USA (KMC) and Kawasaki Heavy Industries in Japan (KHI), Puerto Rico Jet Ski Center was established in 1986.

Puerto Rico Jet Ski Center used to distribute the Jet Ski line in the territory of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. As time went on a chain of distribution was developed in Puerto Rico and some islands in the Caribbean through authorized dealers.

In 1991 Kawasaki Motors USA grants Puerto Rico Jet Ski Center the rest of the Kawasaki line, which included the motorcycles, the utility vehicles, all terrain vehicles, power products and the small engines line. For that reason Caribbean Kawasaki Corp. is founded that same year.

At the present time, in addition to the different concessionaires through Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, Caribbean Kawasaki Corp. has established two dealers in the Island. One is located in Arecibo, which is the distribution center, guarantee and central offices. The other one is located in Río Piedras, equipped with a showroom and service center.

En 1981 el Sr. Ricardo Rodríguez adquirió un Jet Ski usado del año 1979. Ricardo notaba que las personas se interesaban muchísimo en el Jet Ski y siempre preguntaban dónde lo había adquirido y cómo ellos podían hacer lo mismo. El único problema que Ricardo tenía era que en Puerto Rico no existía ningún representante de Kawasaki que vendiera piezas de repuesto para este equipo. Así que cada vez que el Jet Ski se dañaba estaba semanas sin poder usarlo mientras se ordenaban y recibían las piezas de algún “Dealer” de Estados Unidos. Esto despertó el interés en Ricardo de adquirir la representación de la línea y luego de años de negociaciones con Kawasaki Motors Corp. USA (KMC) y Kawasaki Heavy Industries en Japón (KHI) surgió Puerto Rico Jet Ski Center en 1986.

Puerto Rico Jet Ski Center contaba con la distribución de los Jet Ski en el territorio de Puerto Rico y el Caribe. Con el tiempo se fue desarrollando una cadena de distribución a través de Puerto Rico y las diferentes Islas del Caribe, mediante concesionarios autorizados.

En 1991 Kawasaki Motors USA otorga a Puerto Rico Jet Ski Center el resto de la línea Kawasaki, en ésta se encuentran las motoras, vehículos de utilidad, vehículos todo terreno, “Power Products” y la línea de motores pequeños. Es por esta razón que en este mismo año se funda Caribbean Kawasaki Corp.

Actualmente, además de los diferentes concesionarios a través de Puerto Rico y el Caribe, Caribbean Kawasaki Corp. cuenta con dos sucursales establecidas en la Isla. Una se encuentra en Arecibo, esta es el centro de distribución, garantía y oficinas centrales. La otra se encuentra en Rio Piedras, esta cuenta con salón de demostraciones y centro de servicio.
